FOH Volunteers ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests. During your FOH Shift you may be called upon to fill the following positions:
- Lead Usher – Works in conjunction with the FOH Manager to ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for all volunteers and
guests. - Door Person – Creates the first impression; Welcomes guests. Requires standing, being outside, and opening heavy doors multiple times throughout the shift.
- Greeter / Host – These volunteers work in the lobby to answer questions for patrons, engage in conversation, and create a warm welcoming atmosphere.
- Will Call – Welcomes guests and manages the distribution of tickets and directs patrons to the appropriate entrance to the theatre.
- Ticket Taker – Welcomes patrons, checks that tickets are for the correct night and show, rips tickets and guides guests into the theatre to the ushers for assistance.
- Programs – Welcomes guests and hands them programs as they enter the theatre. This position will assist ushers seating patrons as necessary.
- Usher – Assists patrons to their seats; manages wheelchairs and walkers.
TIME COMMITMENT
Front-of-House shifts begin one and one-half hour before showtime and run approximately four hours depending on the length of the show. Volunteers help ready the lobby and house for guests, and assist audience members before the show begins, at intermission, and as they leave the theatre. FOH Volunteers will choose their shifts based on availability approximately four to six weeks ahead of time.
